The Animals Working Group is a team of passionate individuals committed to providing non-human animals with a political voice. We are a subset of the Victorian Greens. The Group acts as a workshop to help formulate policy in relation to non-human animals and also helps put forward animal related issues within the party and the political realm. Activities include attendance at festivals, writing to State and Federal leaders, working with the community to promote animal rights and drafting questions for elected Greens representatives to ask in Parliament. The Group also networks with numerous organisations to help inform policy in relation to non-human animals and establish education campaigns.
The Cruelty Free West expo is an annual event held by The Caroline Springs Animal Welfare Network. The Greens will be represented at the expo by the Victorian Greens Animals Working Group.
This is a great opportunity for Western Metro Greens to get involved with the Animals Working Group and to meet locals who care about animal welfare issues and chat about Greens policies for protecting animals from inhumane treatment.
The stall needs volunteers to help keep it busy throughout the day. Stalls are an easy and well supported way to volunteer, meet some other Greens and show voters what friendly and approachable people we are!
