Transport Planner William McDougall is coming to the West to talk to us on how we can get trucks off our streets and move freight onto rail, and to answer your questions.
A representative from the Maribyrnong Truck Action resident group will also give an overview of the community campaign to date.
In the inner West more than 21,000 container trucks travel residential streets every single day to and from the Port, and numbers are growing fast. These trucks travel through streets where people live, play, sleep and breathe. Trucks are making us sick and our streets are unsafe.
Moving freight onto rail is one part of the solution, that which will deliver long term benefits. Come find out how it can be done. Kid friendly space.
Following the community information session, the local volunteer team is heading out into the Yarraville community, will do a stint of doorknocking, and build community support. You are welcome to join us. More info will be provided on the day.
